Elementary Counselor's Newsletter
As the winter season progresses and inclement weather becomes a possibility, our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. Our commitment is to notify you of cancellations as early as possible.
To keep you in the loop, we will broadcast updates on local radio and TV stations, post cancelations on our school social media pages, and send texts and calls using our alert system.
If there have been any changes in your contact information, we ask you to contact the school to update your information on file at school. If the regular transportation plan does not work for you in the event of an early release due to inclement weather, we encourage parents to have an alternate plan for their child’s safe arrival home.
Since there are no AMI Days, we have several snow make-up days built into the school calendar to compensate for several missed days. We will keep you posted on when we will activate the use of make-up days.
Thank you for working with us to navigate the winter season safely.
Athletic Update: January is always a very busy time for Bear and Lady Bear Basketball. Yesterday, we went to Ridgefield Christian for 1A-3 conference action. Tonight, the Lady Bears will play Marmaduke in the semi-finals of the Kell Classic in Swifton. If they win, they will play at 6:00 in the finals on Saturday, 1/13. We are still planning to host Ridgefield Christian at home on Monday, 1/15, and Marked Tree on Friday, 1/19. The Lady Bears will also play in the Thayer Winter Classic on Tuesday, with a chance to play in the finals on Thursday. However, with the chance of inclement weather, those games could all be moved around some. Be sure to check our website and Facebook page for any changes to sporting events. Thank you, and Go Bears!
